Air Shaft Tower

Successful planning and listed building consent has been achieved for the conversion and conservation of the grade II listed tower, a significant landmark within the Whaley Bridge conservation area and town. The proposal entails converting the tower into ancillary accommodation for the adjacent dwelling.

Given the existing structure's significance, our approach involved creating a thoughtful and efficient layout that maximises the use of the existing structural elements while preserving the structure's character.

To ensure the preservation of the historic character, we have carefully selected robust materials that not only reflect the building's heritage but also contribute to its long-term sustainability. By utilising natural materials, we respect the existing fabric of the structure and ensure a high standard of finish that aligns with sustainable principles.

Our aim is to create a harmonious blend of historical preservation and contemporary functionality, breathing new life into the structure while maintaining its unique identity.
